Description:

This item is an annotated homework problem relating to constant velocity and acceleration for introductory physics students. A person runs at 5 m/s to catch a bus accelerating from a stopped position 20 meters away. Given the rate of acceleration, students must determine whether the runner can catch up to the bus. This problem gives particular attention to the use of appropriate symbols to represent the quantities and help with diagramming the physical situation.
