Homophones and near-homophones for elementary/middle school spelling instruction are drawn from the Harris-Jacobson vocabulary list. I present the homophones in graded lists. An introductory section explains the range, source, organization, and use of the lists. The lists were revised on January 29, 2009.

Reviewer Comments:

This complete listing of homophones is beneficial to the Curriki community. This resource lists pertinent homophones at each level of language development. It also gives specific instruction about how to use the homophone list at appropriate grades. (see pg 2) . This resource does not include lesson plans nor is it part of a larger unit. It would be beneficial for other teachers to expand on this comprehensive list and add lesson plans, other resources, etc to make it be more easily used in a classroom.

Very academic

This is an excellent summary for teachers to use in their class. I will be laminating the list and using it as a regular resource. Games could be devised to demonstrate both the meaning and spelling of all words. Many thanks.
