This external link provides a wealth of resources via the National Endowment for the Humanities for art and culture, literature and language arts, foreign language, and history and social studies. The scope of this resource is vast and any teacher who peruses this website will find something of value. The range of resource type is profound ~ online US History games, videos and lesson plans supported by NEH, lessons on Angkor Wat, the Chinese zodiac, flag facts, fables, etc.etc. For example, a lesson on the middle school book, Esperanza Rising, includes background information for the teacher replete with links to important websites, photographs and songs and simulation activities of the times, rich questions and films, the integration of a variety of research skills, as well as worksheets to focus on learning about parts of the story: the plot, the setting, the characters, themes, symbols, imagery, etc.
