This is a small collection of basic ESL materials using fruit vocabulary to work with concepts of: How many?, singular/plural, color, numbers, I like, I don't like… This unit is similar in design to my other ESL collections. Some worksheets are designed to fit 2 to a page, which is nice in places where copies are costly and student notebooks are small. I've used these materials with 3-5th graders.

Reviewer Comments:

This excellent comprehensive resource is on teaching fruit to beginning English Language Learners. It has 12 lessons and each is colorful, specific and practical. The resource teaches: fruit names through a picture dictionary; provides flashcards which can be used with games such as Go Fish or Memory; a worksheet with opportunities to write the names of fruits; another worksheet providing opportunities to write sentences using fruit (and previously taught color) language; practice in writing quantity with singular/plural grammar, i.e. There are, There is…; opportunities to draw employing preposition use (i.e. under, over); opportunities for language preference (I like/I don’t like) and quizzes. Overall, this is a complete, useful and usable resource.
