Introduction:
 

Earth Day is the day we celebrate our Earth and it's natural resources!! Just like a birthday is a special day to celebrate a person, Earth Day is a special day that celebrates the Earth. Earth Day was born on April 22, 1970, in San Francisco, California. Every year, America and over 100 different countries join together in the celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd. Earth Day is the largest, most celebrated environmental event worldwide. On Earth Day, we remember to appreciate nature and learn ways to protect our environment. How will you become envolved with Earth Day?
 

The Task:
 

In your groups project answer the following questions. Tell me how your group project involves Earth Day and what benefits it will have for the Earth.

  • What is a carbon footprint?
  • Calculate your carbon footprint?
  • What can your group to reduce their carbon footprint?
  • Why is it important to preserve our planets resource?
  • List some things that you can do in your home that will help the earth?
  • As a group pick a Earth Day Topic to present to the class.
  • As a group construct a presentation that celebrates Earth Day.
If the final product involves using some tools:

The Process:
 

You will be given time in class to work on your overall project. We will work on this for 4 hours a week for 2 weeks. Presentations begin in 2.5 week. Please follow below steps to complete project.

  1. First you'll be assigned into a group of 3 to 4 classmates.
  2. Answer questions assigned 9 total questions
  3. Pick an Earth Day Topic as a group
  4. Construct a PowerPoint presentation
  5. Print out a copy of slides
  6. Give a classroom presentation
