Reviewer Comments:

This resource is an ELA/Literacy Unit Map Template. The unit title is FakeBook: A Social Media Personal Narrative, designed as a 3-4 week unit for grade 5. The template is meant to be edited, customized and shared. The big ideas for this unit are: Personal narratives share experiences and a life lesson - usually when someone overcomes something. Students understand that writing is a means of documenting and sharing thinking and experiences, conveying ideas, thoughts and feelings. Writers use details and supporting ideas to recall and write a personal narrative. These ideas target specific CCSS. The authentic assessment at the end of the unit asks students to write a personal narrative and make a recorded presentation (StoryCorpStyle) and to write a factual account of a story from an interview with an adult.
