From the US Geological Survey comes this open file report (#99-342) on environmental geochemical investigations carried out between 1994 and 1997 in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve (WRST), Alaska. The purpose of the study was to "determine the extent of possible environmental hazards associated with these mineralized areas and to establish background and baseline levels for selected elements." Samples collected for the study include rock, mine waste, mill tailings, stream-sediment, heavy-mineral-concentrate, water, precipitates, and (at Nabesna only) willow samples. The text of this report is in .pdf format, and the data tables are available for download as either .mdb or .wk1 files.
