Maintained by the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of Natural History, the Global Volcanism Program "seeks better understanding of all volcanoes through documenting their eruptions--small as well as large--during the past 10,000 years." The extensive Web site contains up-to-date and archived information about volcanic eruptions in the form of short reports from local observers. A large amount of additional information about volcanoes around the world is available, making it an indispensable source of information for those interested in or studying volcanoes.
