The scope and sequence for Algebra 2/Trigonometry Honors is written for a one year course culminating with the New York State Algebra2/Trigonometry Regents Examination. This exam is not a requirement for graduation, but is a requirement for an Advanced Regents Diploma. The scope and sequence is based on the Core Curriculum issued by the New York State Education Department. The honors scope and sequence includes additional enrichment topics that are not required for a regents level course. The Core Curriculum consists of five process strands: Problem Solving, Reasoning and Proof, Communication, Connections, and Representation. The content strands of this curriculum include Number Sense and Operations, Algebra, Measurement, and Statistics and Probability. There are no performance indicators for the Geometry strand, but they could be applied as part of instruction within the other strands when necessary.
