The observer will keep track of who has contributed and will only speak when asked a question about their observations or when informing a student that they have spoken too often (don't we wish that was the problem??)

This resource is a unit of instruction for the graphic novel, Maus. The unit directs students to explore the text’s meanings and use of traditional, textual literary devices in the graphic novel medium. Essential questions are asked, a course sequence is provided, background knowledge is built, and strategies to build comprehension are included. At the end of the unit, students create a written piece which is presented orally to the class and community.
