Reviewer Comments:

For a scientific twist on Valentine’s day, this unit has students exploring the science behind hearts and flowers. One lab has students explore pulse rate and blood flow. Another (more advanced math) activity explores the relationship between music tempo and running time. There are a variety of resources to help students learn about the parts of the heart and flowers, as well as the function of the circulatory system. A final activity walks students through a dissection of a flower. This can be a fantastic February resource for the science teacher with a sense of humor, and its parts can be easily integrated throughout any biology curriculum.

Wonderful mix-up on the Valentine theme. This is why Open Curriculum and Curriki are so different, unlocking individual creativity.

This collection is hilarious. Since around Valentine's Day many kids are thinking of little else, this would be a fantastic unit to engage them.
