Description:

At this interactive site, students will estimate how many pearls are in a treasure chest. Two methods are offered: estimating the weight using a scoop and scale or estimating the volume using cubes. Helpful information is given along the way to enable students to logically reach their answer. This lesson was developed as part of the Teacher's Guide for the Nova program, The Perfect Pearl. Links to background information about pearls and a transcript of the program are included.
