Description:

In this activity, students plot points on different images, maps and photographs, to calculate an angle, distance, or area on that image. They can change the scale of the image in order to get an accurate estimation. This activity allows students to explore scales and their use on maps. This activity includes supplemental materials, including background information about the topics covered, a description of how to use the application, and exploration questions for use with the java applet.
