Reviewer Comments:

Many teachers find the process of inquiry overwhelming. However, this resource makes it approachable by outlining manageable steps for facilitating a quick open-ended investigation. This process can be adapted for use with any content and virtually any educational level, although as it is written it is best suited for late elementary and middle school students. The procedure involves a combination of individual observation, small group and class discussion, and informal and formal experimentation. The added hints for timing and adaptation make this resource immediately useful in the classroom.
