These downloadable files follow an adventure story in which the characters (young middle-school aged students) travel in time and space to different parts of the world where they are faced with various health problems which they are required to solve. The files are divided into smaller one- to three-class period lessons which contain lesson plans, class activities and games, worksheets, handouts, and quizzes. The lessons come packaged with a Teacher Guide that introduces the lessons and provides background information for the teacher. The Kiss of the Assassin (Peru) focuses on pathogens and bacterial infectious diseases (Chagas disease in this case) that can be obtained from insects, like the "kissing bug," that harbor the bacteria and serve as vectors for the disease. Tut's Revenge (Egypt) focuses on water contamination during construction of King Tut’s tomb in ancient Egypt. Midnight at the Marble Tomb focuses on the health consequences of raw sewage in streets, acupuncture, tattoos, body piercing (of the nose, ears, lips, eyebrows, and belly button), blood transfusions, and organ donations in India.
