British author and artist John Collier first exhibited his work The Last Voyage of Henry Hudson in 1881. The painting is a depiction of Henry Hudson and part of his crew, including his son, set adrift in the Hudson Bay by mutinous sailors eager to return home to Europe. Hudson was never heard from again and his exact fate remains unkown.
