This lesson teaches students to identify and describe the layers of the solid Earth, including the lithosphere, the hot convecting mantle, and the dense metallic liquid and solid cores. The lesson also teaching students to identify and describe the varying terrains on the Earth's surface. Students will use a variety of resources, including the Internet, PowerPoint, YouTube, and Adobe Photoshop. Students will research the Earth's layers and terrains on the Internet. Students will use the internet to watch educational videos on YouTube describing the different layers of the solid Earth and the varying terrains on the Earth's surface. They will then use Adobe Photoshop to create a facsimile of the Earth, depicting the layers of the solid Earth and the varying terrains on the Earth's surface.
