Note: You may want to consult a physical education
teacher or a certified fitness instructor at a local community center to help
develop or supervise a simple stretching routine for the students.
Remind students of the three rules
of stretching before beginning the routine. Make a poster of these rules so
that you may refer to it when reviewing the rules of stretching and during the
comfortably and stop if it hurts.
bouncing during stretching, ease into the stretching stance.

Students can use floor mats/carpet
squares or students can position themselves an arm’s length apart on the floor.
The stretching routine can be done
in the morning, between subjects or at breaks throughout the day.
