Reviewer Comments:

The review team would like to thank you for taking the time to submit your lesson plan on an important topic for middle school social studies student. You included thoughtful and engaging questions in your structured lesson. The Curriki review team recommends that you write all directions for a general audience. For example, explain SWBAT, "Do now!" and "Hand signals for each theme". In order to use this lesson, it would be helpful to know more about the skits and how students learn about the various types of government. We found the graphic organizer quite helpful as it easily allows students to compare types of governance. Your lesson would be even stronger for a general audience if you clearly explained the links between the various resources. Also, you include a statement that "every government has three jobs." This certainly describes the United States and other governments but there are and have been governments that do not operate with three distinct branches of government or perform those three roles in the same way. The review team is very excited you took the time to submit your lesson to Curriki.org. It is because of educators like you that we will be able to build an open source of excellent curriculum available to people all over the world.
