Although a delicate topic, suicide is a major issue in today's society . It is one of the leading causes of death for teenagers and young adults, yet information about the topic has become a taboo among individuals. When information is scarce and difficult to talk about, rumors develop, and with rumors comes fictional education which misconstrues and misleads the population. In the case of suicide, rumors, or "myths" have become the only "true" information about the topic, where the actual truth is known only to those few people who are not scared to ask "do you want to talk about how you are feeling right now?"
