Students will: 1. Understand some of the problems faced by the uninsured through data collection. 2. Learn about the various issues surrounding the problems of the uninsured. 3. Explore possible solutions and problems with each of those issues. 4. Gain a deeper understanding of issues awaiting them as they enter the workforce. 5. Identify programs designed to address the issue of the uninsured. 6. Gain a deeper understanding of some of the fears of the uninsured. 7. Appreciate the insight given to the issues from varying perspectives of the health care system through interviews with various people involved in the issue.

I think this is a very interesting lesson plan. I like the fact that the students have to gather some information on their own and then discuss it in class. I also like how the lesson consists of independent and group work.
