Reviewer Comments:

This excellent resource is a lesson on the Harlem Renaissance, integrating literary works by Langston Hughes and Zora Neal Hurston.   Students are encouraged to research an area of Fashion, Music, Art, Literature, Dance or History during the 20’s and 30’s in NYC.  Class presentations of fashion shows, film clips of the time period, power points, dramas or skits, poetry readings, dance, timelines are encouraged.  The resource is aligned with ELA Common Core Standards for 11th grade.  A rubric is cited as preceding this lesson, but was not readily available.
