MEMS sensors are in our cars, phones, PCs, cameras, and a variety of other applications but until now, they've never been attached to a guitar. The authors seek to answer the question: Can you use a MEMS accelerometer as an acoustic transducer? This article is a great overview of the principals of how a MEMS Accelerometer functions and monitors g-forces. The article describes some of the key technologies deployed in MEMS accelerometer products and discusses how this technology can bring a new dimension to acoustic transducers.
