This informational piece, part of a series about the future of energy, introduces students to processes for making decisions. Two different methods are presented. Students use a matrix in the first and a checklist in the second method. Student tip sheets explain each method and enable students to work through the decision-making process in a step-by-step manner while seeing how the information is tied together. Students identify the problem, evaluate similar situations, consider alternatives, and make an informed decision. Graphic organizers provide students with an opportunity to evaluate the issue they have researched using either method. A brief outline of the two methods provides students with a handy summary to use while making decisions. The downloadable activity sheets are pdf files.
