Description:

This activity from the Exploratorium provides a presentation of the role of the sun in ancient cultures and an extensive description of the modern view of the sun. The activity features many striking images and a hands-on, scientific experience as well as explanatory Quick Time movies. Visitors are able to perform an investigation with real solar data by comparing the appearance of sunspots in visible light and in x-rays.
