### Elementary Algebra

by National Repository of Online Courses Math

Introduction Welcome to the NROC Elementary Algebra course. This course is a study of the basic skills and concepts of elementary algebra, including language and operations on sets, operations on signed numbers, simple linear equations and inequalities in one variable, operations on polynomials (including beginning techniques of factoring), integer exponents, brief introduction to radicals, introduction to graphing, and applications. This curriculum emphasizes a multi-representational approach to algebra, with concepts, results, and problems being expressed graphically, analytically, and verbally. Upon completion of this course you will: Demonstrate knowledge of algebraic concepts, properties and terminology when working with the real number system Demonstrate mastery of algebraic algorithms relative to subsets of the real numbers, numerical expressions, algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities, graphing of linear equations by applying the necessary algebraic manipulations, and quadratic equations

### Algebra 1A - NROC

by National Repository of Online Courses Math

This curriculum emphasizes a multi-representational approach to algebra, with concepts, results, and problems being expressed graphically, analytically, and verbally. It develops algebraic fluency by providing students with the skills needed to solve equations and perform important manipulations with numbers, variables, equations, and inequalities. In addition, the course develops proficiency with operations involving monomial and polynomial expressions. The main unifying themes of the course include understanding, writing, solving, and graphing linear equations, systems of linear equations and inequalities, quadratic equations, and rational equations. Upon completion of this course you will: Perform operations with real numbers Simplify and evaluate algebraic expressions Use equations to solve word problems Graph and solve problems involving inequalities and absolute value Graph and solve linear equations Solve systems of equations Solve many types of real-world problems Factor polynomial equations Understand relations and functions Solve quadratic equations Work with radical expressions and rational equations

### Algebra 1B - NROC

by National Repository of Online Courses Math

Welcome to the NROC Introductory Algebra 1B course. This curriculum emphasizes a multi-representational approach to algebra, with concepts, results, and problems being expressed graphically, analytically, and verbally.
