The Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium features a wide variety of Earth science exhibits, a Wildlife Center, and an Immersion Theater. Fourteen High Definition screens throughout the Museum play videos on various science topics, and have covered Space Shuttle Launches in real time. The Museum hosts lectures on astronomy and other topics, Star Gazer video podcasts are available online, and the Meade telescope is open to the public on Fridays. The Wildlife Center hosts an online virtual wildlife education page, as well as information on their Adopt a Bird of Prey program.There are a number of online professional development resources including a database where teachers can share and find online resources to support the National Science Education Standards. Taffy Time is an online resource of age appropriate activities, and information on outreach, awards and youth development resources are also available.
