Description:

This lesson uses data from the United States Federal Statistics database to help students in understanding how to determine a mathematical model that best fits a data set. Students will plot building permit data over a period of time for specific cities in the United States. They will also make predictions about the number of permits issued for a particular year. Student materials are available for download here (first row, second column of table).
