Description:

This web page contains a multi-tool simulation depicting the motion of a charged particle in a non-uniform field. The source charge is movable within the field and students can also control initial velocity, position, and test charge. With a mouse click, electric field lines and equipotential lines can be displayed. The Coordinates panel allows users to click at any location in the field to display the x,y coordinates and the electric potential at that point. This module includes a detailed lesson with related problems/solutions and full instructions for use. This item is part of a larger collection of simulation-based physics modules sponsored by the MAP project (Modular Approach to Physics).
