Type:

E-book, Lesson Plan

Description:

In this lesson, students will compose unique short musical pieces using a paper and pencil method as well as a digital composition software like Finale or Sibelius on the computer. Students will then evaluate the differences between manual and digital composition and then reflect on what the music composition experience must have been like for the classic composers who did not have this technology available to them.

At the end of this lesson, students will have created a short hand-written song, and a 2 minute long song using Finale or Sibelius.
