This unit is designed for the early elementary classroom and contains integrated lessons in math, language arts, and science to introduce students to the basics of rockets, the International Space Station (ISS) and the role rockets have played in its construction. The overall unit begins by with a detailed alignment with national education standards, as well as background information for educators. Each activity features objectives, a material list, educator information, procedures, and suggestions for assessment and enrichment. . Students will practice skills ranging from shape recognition to collecting data, sequencing, rhyming and position words. This collection includes a variety of activities including simulations, art, songs and hands-on investigation.
