Reviewer Comments:

This engaging activity allows middle school students to follow the steps of Egyptian mummification using a fish. The steps are clear and easy to follow as students observe, disembowel, and set up their fish for drying. This unit may be improved by adding more specific details, such as which organs should be removed. Sheets illustrating the external features and internal organs would also be helpful for student use during the activity. The lesson does not specify if the fish should be discarded or retained at the end of the activity.
