Description:

The resources for this faculty institute are used to introduce strategies for implementing more quantitative reasoning in the development of interdisciplinary modules. This year's topics include HIV and cancer. We introduced Excel, explored data visualization and modeled tumor growth kinetics. Further, we explored HIV data using Markham 1998. Online resources include Gapminder, CDC, WHO, Wolfram Alpha, NCBI, Biology Workbench and GenBank.
