Description:

Students learn how a hurricane develops in this series of animated satellite images. Captured every 11 minutes over a 12-hour period, Hurricane Dennis is shown as it formed and approached the coast of Florida. The concluding images are labeled to indicate the eye, eye wall, and feeder bands of the hurricane. Movie controls allow students to repeat, pause, or step through the animation, which can give students more time to analyze the images. Copyright 2005 Eisenhower National Clearinghouse
