Description:

In this animation, students see the events that lead up to a geyser erupting. The animation offers students a view of the aboveground and belowground events, with a focus on what is occurring beneath the ground to produce the eruption. A brief explanation of each step is shown in a text box. Movie controls allow students to replay, to step through, or to pause the animation, which can give students more time to read the text and connect it with the images.
