Description:

This is a case study presented by the University of Pittsburgh Department of Pathology. This case examines the history of medicine by tracing the origins and development of proprietary medications. Visitors will find a collection of bottle and advertisement images, analysis procedures results from medications, discussion of those results, and references for further reading. This is an excellent resource for students in the health sciences to understand the history of medicine, the development of proprietary medications, and the biochemical analysis of them. It is also a helpful site for educators to use to introduce or test student learning in clinical chemistry.
