Description:

This clinical chemistry case, provided by the University of Pittsburgh Department of Pathology, illustrates two sets of laboratory tests (for two different clinical cases) that were used to diagnose Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI). These two cases demonstrate the differences between patients, which can require a different approach in diagnosing the patient. An evaluation of the diagnostic strategies for AMI, and a list of references are provided in the “Discussion” section. This is an excellent resource for students in the health sciences to familiarize themselves with the diagnostic process and techniques.
