Description:

Pedigrees are valuable tools in the study of disease inheritance. Since the mid-1800s, pedigrees have been used to track human heredity. Barbara Weber and her colleagues used pedigrees of families with a high incidence of breast cancer to aid their gene-mapping work, and found that the pedigrees could contain useful information for the families they studied.
