Description:

This activity (on page 2 of the PDF) is a full inquiry investigation into whether pets show a preference for the left or right paw, or “handedness” like people. Learners will develop three simple activities that require a cat to use its paw, observe and record each test at least ten times, and then tabulate the results to see if the evidence is conclusive. Relates to linked video, DragonflyTV: Pet Handedness.
