Reviewer Comments:

This wonderful resource is a useful collection for any teacher of poetry. The units include detailed, step by step instruction on how to create a poem with: vivid language, metaphor and simile. Examples from Langston Hughes to Tupac to Nikki Giovanni are included as the student is guided to find his or her personal voice to construct meaningful poems (i.e. Sense of Place poems), devoid of cliché. This reviewer was unable to open the last resource, based on Nikki Giovanni’s Ego Tripping and hyperbole.
