Standards Alignment: One \"child\" of this Poetry Unit, the Poetry Outloud Website, is aligned to Common Core State Standards.
Subject Matter: There are many different Lesson Plans for teaching poetry in this unit, although not every \"child\" contains them.
Assessments Quality: Only one \"child\" contains an assessment of specific content. It could be used to determine what a student knows before, during or after a topic is taught. An answer key is provided as well.
Instructional Quality: While this unit offers lessons to teach poetry analysis, it does not provide repetition of the same skill repeatedly.
Deeper Learning: In this unit, there are opportunities for students to learn how to analyze poetry, by thinking critically, reasoning abstractly, communicating effectively, and critiquing the work.
