This activity challenges students to investigate the sum of the lengths of line segments drawn from a point inside an equilateral triangle to the midpoint of the sides. A hint to consider the area is provided. A solution is also given. As the area of a triangle is 1/2 the base times the height, it appears the document did not appropriately display the 1/2. The lesson also includes some spelling errors and is limited to the one problem.

I believe that the line in the formulas should be changed to 1/2
