Description:

Preamble Visualization Graphic Organizer: Have students break apart the purposes for the constitution as stated in the preamble by drawing pictures of what each of the six purposes are. Before this lesson give students the chance to practice the reading strategy of visualizing. With younger students or English Language Learners this works best as a guided assignment. Specific vocabulary instruction is also very helpful prior to beginning. I created this on my own.

Reviewer Comments:

This resource is a useful tool for helping students gain a greater understanding of the Preamble to the Constitution. Students draw visual representations for the six main parts of the document. Pre-teaching the vocabulary and providing a sample of a visual would support students in completing the assignment.
