Reviewer Comments:

This five lesson unit is targeted for 1st grade and appropriate for early elementary students. Students will study the parts of plants and their requirements for survival, culminating in an oral presentation of their experiment. The unit begins with a pre-assessment that is mirrored at the end of the unit with a complementary post-assessment. Lessons are aligned with the national and other Georgia Performance Standards and the unit includes clear objectives, procedures, and project rubric. The unit uses a nice combination of discussion, demonstrations, hands-on investigations, and even a nature walk! A complete, though Wikipedia-heavy, bibliography is included. Many of the activities require written products from the students and may need to be modified for use with younger students.
