QuarkNet, a professional development program for high-school physics teachers, is intended to involve them and their students in collaborative high-energy physics experiments and research. During the summer months, teachers collaborate with each other and with research physicists who act as mentors. The teachers return to their home schools during the following academic year and use their research experience and classroom materials they have developed to involve their students in constructivist activities that investigate introductory physics phenomena. The QuarkNet web site features information on the program, classroom activities and online resources for teachers, and materials for students such as interactives, webcasts, online activities, and links to related websites.
