Description:

This article gives suggestions on how to use culturally relevant pedagogy with groups of culturally diverse students. The misconceptions about the aims and effects of this pedagogy are rejected in favor of the goal of maximizing student learning. Numerous examples in various disciplines of successful approaches are described, including tapping the resources of the larger community and advocating for changes to improve community life.
