Reviewer Comments:

This resource is designed to address the question of what is happening to the “hero” in 21st century Western fiction. Instead of the classic outsider hero, current stories feature a group of heroes working collaboratively. This resource is designed to engage the readers/viewers in blogs to respond to stories by creating fan fiction and homage music, art and film. The purpose of this resource is to help students “embrace co-authoring by creating and sharing multimodal texts and fan fiction stories.” The texts used are: Tomorrow when the war began and The dead of the night by John Marsden and TV series Friday night lights, Series 1. Fan fiction blogs are in character, evoke time and place and hook the reader.
