Description:

This lesson plan fuses inquiry into a traditional, direct instruction format. Students have a chance to question and discuss but also work on listening skills by viewing a video and taking notes from a powerpoint. In the end, students create their own flipbook on the colonial regions using their notes, text, and information they gained in the videos. The authors of this lesson have excellent lesson covering all elements of SS3H3, including a set of lessons that has students take a perspective, which can be found in our Third Grade Group Resources as well.
