In this one-week lesson, students will analyze the DOI using the \"I see, I Think, I Wonder\" strategy, by digging deeper into the Grievances of the DOI, teaching their peers using the Jigsaw strategy, and writing letters from the perspective of a colonist and King George! In the end, they will be able to answer the question \"Why did the American colonists want to be free from England?\"
