Reviewer Comments:

This PowerPoint provides examples of and problems involving scientific notation. The first slide seems misplaced as it involves measurement and some of the SI units. Additional slides provide a definition of scientific notation, examples of equivalent representations of numbers involving products of powers of ten and finally directions on solving problems involving numbers in scientific notation. The PowerPoint would be improved by providing a clearer definition of scientific notation. In addition, the steps for solving problems involving scientific notation could be expanded. Some example problems are provided and the answers are included. Including more examples of problems would also be helpful. This PowerPoint provides an acceptable review or introduction to scientific notation but additional work would be needed by the teacher to make it useful in a classroom.
